Chrysler to Announce New Vehicles

Chrysler will be announcing two new vehicles tomorrow morning at 11am in Chelsea, MI. Upon further research, I believe that at least one of these vehicles will not be a Jeep. It sounds like the two Chrysler vehicles will be Chrysler vehicles, and not Jeep vehicles. It seems like an upscale affair, unlike the ones that unveiled the new 2007 Jeep Wranglers. According to LeftLaneNews, one of the vehicles to be unveiled tomorrow will be the new Chrysler Sebring.

Earlier, we reported that two images started circulating online showing the next-generation Chrysler Sebring sedan, one day ahead of its official unveiling.

I am secretly holding out hope that this unveiling will involve some Wrangler news, but I am not holding my breath.

A New Biofuel?

LeftLaneNews has posted an article about BP developing a potential replacement for ethanol.

BP and DuPont on Tuesday announced what some are calling a breakthrough in biofuels. The new product, biobutanol, produces more energy than ethanol and can be used in vehicles more easily without modification to engines.

If this makes it to the mass market, this sounds very promising. The fact that it is more pure than ethanol and is renewable is awesome. It is also nice to know that most current vehicles will run on biobutanol without modification.

According to an article in the Toledo Blade, production on the four door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is slated to begin July 17, 2006. I’m not sure how long it takes for production to begin and the vehicles start to show up at dealerships, but I imagine that it is not that long.

Mr. Henneman said the company has told him the new complex will start making a redesigned Wrangler on July 17, beginning with four-door Unlimited versions, and the Nitro on Aug. 7 next door, along with continued Liberty production.

Today I put $.49 down on my new Jeep Wrangler.
