As of late I have been riding my bike to work. This allows me to not spend any money on public transportation, and allows me to place the $2.50 that I would normally spend on public transportation and put it down on my new Jeep Wrangler. Of course, some days it would be impossible to ride my bike to work. Especially living in Boston, where rain and snow in the winter could play a role. At $2.50 per day, that will allow me to have enough money to pay for my new Jeep sometime in 2038. Since that won’t work for me, it definitely won’t be the only way that I put money towards my new Jeep Wrangler.

Today I put $6.12 down on my new Jeep Wrangler.

The Jeep Wrangler made Forbes list of adventure cars. This isn’t surprising, considering the huge following of Jeepphiles and the extremes to which they will push their vehicles.

All three have made our list of the most impressive adventure cars currently on the market. And they share another trait besides being built for unusual undertakings: sky-high base prices. Though we included such affordable fare as DaimlerChrysler’s (nyse: DCX – news – people ) $19,000 Jeep Wrangler, the average price of a car in the slide show is $241,000.

Over at Autoblog, there is a story about Chrysler’s new inline 4 banger and how it might find it’s way into the 2007 Wrangler. As a former owner of an old 4 banger TJ, I would have to say that when I purchase my new Jeep Wrangler, I will be opting for the 6 cylinder.

Faced with the effect of rising fuel costs and blessed with a capable new line of four-cylinder “World Engines”, Chrysler has stated that it will expand its offerings of vehicles with smaller motors – a drastic departure from the Hemi proliferation that has brought the automaker showroom success.

I have currently raised $1640.81 of the goal of $30,000 to purchase a new Wrangler. Donations are greatly appreciated.

My wife is a tease. The other day we were discussing her taking our vehicle into the shop for a routine service. Through the course of our discussion she hinted that she would just take the vehicle in and trade it in for a Jeep Wrangler. Of course she wasn’t serious, but when she through it out initially it did sound like she was. Of course, had it still been business hours when we were having the discussion, I would have had her over my shoulder and three quarters of the way to the nearest Jeep dealership before she even thought she was kidding me about it.

Today I put $3.74 down on my new Jeep Wrangler.
