The Jeep Commander has the worst possible blind spot, according to Consumer Reports.

Consumer Reports said yesterday the Jeep Commander SUV has the longest “blind zone” behind it of 200 vehicles tested by the magazine for the potential risk they pose to unseen children.

The magazine’s testers concluded that a driver 5 feet 1 inch tall could not see the top of a 28-inch-tall traffic cone placed behind the Commander and meant to represent a child until the cone was moved 69 feet back from the Jeep’s rear bumper. For a driver 5 feet 8 inches tall, the “blind” distance was 44 feet.

If you like playing in the mud, you could win a 2007 Jeep Wrangler.

Jeep® owners take pride in seeing how dirty they can get their vehicles, sometimes going for days before washing off the evidence of their off-road adventures. The Jeep brand is inviting consumers to prove how muddy they are willing to get to become the owner of an all-new four-door 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited in the “Jeep Stick in the Mud” challenge at the State Fair of Texas on Friday, Sept. 29.

You will need to register at this site in order to be eligible to play in the mud.

You can now price a new 2007 Jeep Wrangler at the Jeep.com site. I can’t wait to see one of these up close and personal. How exciting!

According to a post over a JeepNewsNow, Camp Jeep could have it’s plug pulled…

The future of Camp Jeep is in jeopardy..

Jeep’s Marketing department, which funds Camp Jeep, is considering pulling the plug on future Camp Jeep events.

If you haven’t been to a Camp Jeep, hopefully you will still have a chance to do so in future years. Camp Jeep caters to anyone and everyone that loves to experience life behind the wheel of a Jeep. First and foremost, there are the trail rides. Other exciting activities include an engineering tent where you can ask Jeep engineers questions about your vehicle, round table discussions where you can voice your opinions about current and future Jeeps, tons of family-based activities (SRT-8 Driving Experience, Jeep 101 Off-Road Test Drives, rock climbing, mountain bike riding and pro MTB racing, skate boarding–hands on or watching Tony Hawk, etc…), air shows, live music with rockin’ concerts, a huge fireworks display, and so on.

Since I just got my jeep, we all need to sign this petition so that I can go next year.
