Here’s a [review of the 2008 Jeep Commander](http://car-reviews.automobile.com/Jeep/review/2008-jeep-commander/5219/ “Review of the 2008 Jeep Commander”), which by the way will be the last year of the Jeep Commander’s. I would avoid the urge to purchase one too, as it’s just an ugly vehicle. Hold out for something better, like a 7 seat Grand Cherokee or a Diesel Wrangler Unlimited.

>As suggested by its slab-sided styling, the Commander offers utility and a roomy, airy cabin. The rear seats are progressively stepped up, theater style, giving back-seat riders a view of the road. This feeling of airiness is enhanced by a pair of glass roof panels, though the third row is best reserved for 10-year-olds.

Who needs 7 seats anyways?

Dear Jeep,

There’s nothing more exciting than the thought of a diesel Wrangler filling our parking space outside. This new model of Wrangler would help save the environment a little, by burning clean diesel fuel. It would save us money by getting more than 16 miles to the gallon.

So, what do you say? Do you think that in the next year or so, you could come up with a new diesel edition of the Jeep Wrangler. The 2009 model year would be great.

Thanks!

Sales numbers for the new Jeep Wranglers are up. Unfortunately sales numbers for Dodge Nitro are weak, and [3,000 Chrysler employees](http://toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071005/BUSINESS02/710050405/-1/BUSINESS “Chrysler Employees”) will be out of work for 2 weeks as the plant that manufactures the Nitro and the Jeep Liberty will shut down.

>Chrysler LLC said it has added two hours to one shift at the factories making the Wrangler and will add those hours to a second shift starting Monday. Those factories, which the company said had been working eight-hour shifts five days a week, have 1,350 Chrysler and supplier workers.
>
>The extra production comes after a United Auto Workers leader said Toledo Jeep could make only 583 Wranglers a day but demand was for more than 1,000 a day.
>
>“The public can’t get enough of them, said Bruce Baumhower, UAW Local 12 president at Toledo Jeep. Hearing about the added production time yesterday, he said, “It’s great that vehicle has exceeded everybody’s expectation and I hope it continues until they have to put on a third shift and hire more workers.

Here is the video from Chrysler that officially launched the “new all Jeep Liberty”.
