The [2007 Jeep Wrangler is being recalled](http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296853,00.html “Recall 2007 Jeep Wrangler”) for brake issues. This is the first, and hopefully the only recall for the newly redesigned Wrangler.
>Chrysler, which was taken private by Cerberus Capital Management in a $7.4-billion deal last month, said it is recalling 296,550 sport utility vehicles for the brake-related problem.

Issues like these are to be expected in models that feature new technology. This is why you never purchase a first year model.
The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited CRD (only available in the UK) scores a [whopping 28mpg](http://www.jeep.co.uk/jeep/pdf/wranglervsdefender.pdf “UK Wrangler CRD”). That’s huge, and if it were available in the US, I guarantee that Jeep wouldn’t be able to keep them on dealer lots.
The only questions are when, and if Jeep will ever bring this model to the United States. I think it would be silly of them not to, but there are probably reasons that would prevent this, that we don’t know. Either way, it will be exciting to watch it unfold.
I checked around at some dealer sites today, and if your wondering when you can purchase a 2008 Jeep Wrangler it looks like they are starting to show up on some lots. It does look like it is only the four door unlimited that are in inventory so far.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited has one of the best rollover ratings of any SUV. This is good. I would like to feel that a vehicle that [I would like to get](http://iwantajeep.net/23/time-for-an-upgrade/ “Need a four door Jeep Wrangler”) for my family, though small, is going to be completely safe.
