More Grand Cherokee CRD Details

Here are some more details on the new Grand Cherokee CRD model that will be available on the 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Another exciting note about the whole announcement is that there will also be flex fuel option on the 2007 Grand Cherokee. This is all great news coming out of the Daimler camp. If only they would throw these babies into the 2007 Jeep Wrangler.

  1. The first diesel-powered, full-size SUV for the U.S. and Canadian market will be available in the Jeep Grand Cherokee for 2007. The Chrysler Group will manufacture the 2007 Grand Cherokee CRD equipped with a 3.0-litre common-rail turbo diesel.
  2. Mercedes-Benz will build the new CRD engine, which sports 215 hp at 3800 rpm, and 376 lb-ft of torque at 1600 rpm. It will be offered with Grand Cherokee Laredo, Limited and Overland Jeep models.
  3. A flexible-fuel-capable 4.7-litre V8 engine that can also run on E-85 ethanol fuel will also be an option on the Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee CRD will be assembled in Detroit, and the engine will be made in Berlin.
